Before the Rush

Scripture:

“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” — Psalm 5:3

Devotional Reflection:

Before the rush begins…
Before the messages start coming in…
Before the lists begin forming in your mind…

There is a moment to pause.

So much of life pushes us to move quickly.
To respond fast.
To hurry into the day already feeling behind.

But the morning was never meant to begin with pressure.
It was meant to begin with presence.

Even a quiet breath with God can change the way the day unfolds.

You don’t have to rush into every responsibility.
You don’t have to carry the weight of the whole day before it even starts.

You can begin slowly.
Steadily.
With your heart turned toward Him.

When the day begins with God, the rush loses its hold.
And what once felt overwhelming becomes something you can walk through with peace.

Prayer:
Lord, before the rush begins, help me turn my heart toward You.
Slow my thoughts, calm my spirit, and remind me that I don’t have to carry the whole day at once.
Lead me step by step, and help me walk in Your peace.
Amen.
