PEACE — The Gift He Leaves With Us

We live in a world that is always moving.

Always planning.
Always worrying.
Always trying to stay one step ahead.

And somewhere along the way, peace can feel hard to find.

We look for it in circumstances.
In answers.
In things settling down.

But the peace Jesus speaks of is different.

In John 14:27, Jesus says:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.”

This isn’t the kind of peace that depends on everything going right.

It’s a peace that lives inside the heart, even when life feels uncertain.

Peace begins when we stop trying to carry everything alone.

When we begin to understand His love.
When we respond in praise.
When we finally accept His grace…

Something changes.

We start to rest.

Not because every problem is solved.
But because we know we are not facing them by ourselves.

Peace is not the absence of struggle.

It is the quiet knowing that God is near.

It is the steady feeling that even in uncertainty,
we are being held, guided, and cared for.

It is the calm that comes when we trust Him with what we cannot control.

Reflection

Peace doesn’t arrive all at once.

It settles slowly.
Gently.
Quietly.

And it grows when we remember:
We are loved.
We are covered by grace.
And we are never alone.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the peace You offer — a peace that does not depend on circumstances, but rests in Your presence.

When my heart feels troubled, remind me that You are near.
When my thoughts are restless, help me to trust You.
When I feel overwhelmed, help me to rest in Your care.

Let Your peace settle into my heart.
Quiet my fears.
Steady my spirit.
And help me to remember that I am never alone.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
