The Prayer that was Heard

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”

Devotional

Some prayers are spoken aloud.
Others are whispered softly into the quiet.

And some never make it past the lips at all — they rise only from the heart, carried by tears or weary silence.

In those moments, it can feel as if our words disappear into the air.

But Scripture reminds us that heaven is never deaf to the prayers of God’s people.

Not one cry for help goes unnoticed.
Not one quiet plea is ignored.

The God who numbers the stars also hears the prayers that no one else hears.

Even the prayers whispered in the night.

Even the prayers spoken through tears.

Even the prayers we wonder if anyone noticed.

Heaven is listening.

And the God who hears is already at work in ways we cannot yet see.

Lord,

You hear the prayers that rise from quiet hearts.

When words fail us, You still understand.

Thank You for being the God who never turns away from those who call on You.

In the moments when we wonder if our prayers matter, remind us that not one word spoken in faith is lost before You.

Give us peace as we wait, courage as we trust, and faith to keep bringing every burden to Your throne.

Tonight and every day, help us remember:

Heaven is listening.

Amen.
