Lent Day 29 — Written on Stone

Scripture

"When the Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, He gave him the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God."

Exodus 31:18

Devotion

God had spoken from the mountain.

His voice thundered with truth, revealing His heart to His people. But God did not leave His words in the air.

He wrote them.

On stone tablets, His commands were inscribed—permanent, unchanging, and set apart. What had been spoken became something His people could carry with them.

God’s truth was no longer just heard.
It was established.

In a world that shifts and changes, God gave His people something steady. His Word was not meant to fade with time or be forgotten in the wilderness.

It was meant to guide them.

Even now, God’s truth remains. What He speaks is not temporary. It is lasting, faithful, and sure.

And through Christ, His Word is not only written on stone—but written on our hearts.

🌿 Reflection

What truths from God’s Word are you holding onto in this season?

Are you allowing His Word to shape your daily life?

🌿 Prayer

Lord,

Thank You for Your Word that does not change. Help me to hold onto Your truth and live by it each day. Write Your Word on my heart so that I may walk in Your ways.

Amen.

Walk This Journey Together

If today’s reflection met you where you are, don’t let the quiet end here.

Each morning of Lent, a new step is waiting —
a gentle place to pause, listen, and draw near to God.

Return tomorrow for Day 30. We’ll continue the journey — one faithful step at a time.

There is a place for you here.
