Lent Day 14 — The Next Faithful Step

Scripture

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Psalm 119:105

Devotion

Yesterday we remembered that we do not need the whole road — only the next faithful step.

But what does that look like in practice?

There are moments when you are certain you have heard Him.

Not loudly.
Not with spectacle.
But quietly — steady enough that you know.

And after the listening…
After the trusting…

There is always a step.

It is rarely the whole picture.

Scripture tells us,

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Not a floodlight to the horizon.
A lamp.

Enough for the next faithful step.

Obedience often feels small.

Send the message.
Make the call.
Forgive the offense.
Begin the work.
Rest when He says rest.

The step may not feel impressive.
But faithfulness is rarely loud.

It is steady.

And the miracle is not in seeing the whole road —
It is in walking the part illuminated.

Today, do not ask for the entire map.

Ask for courage for the next step.

Reflection

Where have you been waiting for full clarity before moving?

What is one small, faithful step you already know to take?

Sit quietly and name it.

🌿 Prayer

Lord,

You do not overwhelm me with the whole road.
You give me enough light for today.

Help me trust the step in front of me.
Give me courage to move when You whisper.
Keep me steady when the path feels small.

Teach me that faithfulness is not dramatic —
It is daily.

Amen.

Walk This Journey Together

If today’s reflection met you where you are, don’t let the quiet end here.

Each morning of Lent, a new step is waiting —
a gentle place to pause, listen, and draw near to God.

Return tomorrow for Day 15.
We’ll continue the journey — one faithful step at a time.

There is a place for you here.
