Lent Day 13 — Trust What you Hear
Scripture
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left,
your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,
‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
— Isaiah 30:21
Devotion
We have been still.
We have listened.
And sometimes, in the quiet that follows, something gentle rises — not loud, not urgent, but clear.
A nudge.
A direction.
A peace that settles in one place and not another.
Trust begins here.
Not in certainty.
Not in having every step mapped.
But in believing that the voice we heard in stillness is faithful enough to follow.
God never shouts directions from a distance.
He speaks close.
Behind us.
Beside us.
Within us.
“This is the way.”
Trust does not mean the path will be easy.
It means we are not walking it alone.
Sometimes obedience feels small — one phone call, one apology, one quiet yes.
Sometimes it feels like stepping through a door we did not plan to open.
Light often waits on the other side of movement.
Listening was resting.
Trust is walking.
Today, take one step in the direction of the peace you heard yesterday.
You do not need the whole road.
Only the next faithful step.
Reflection
Where have I sensed gentle direction in recent days?
What would it look like to trust that nudge instead of questioning it?
Is there one small step I can take today in obedience?
🌿 Prayer
Lord,
You speak softly, but clearly.
When fear competes with faith, steady my heart.
When doubt clouds what I have heard, remind me of Your nearness.
Give me courage for the next step — not the whole road.
I trust that if You say, “This is the way,”
You will walk it with me.
Amen.

Walk This Journey Together
If today’s reflection met you where you are, don’t let the quiet end here.
Each morning of Lent, a new step is waiting —
a gentle place to pause, listen, and draw near to God.
Return tomorrow for Day 14.
Let’s continue the journey — one faithful step at a time.
There is a place for you here.
