Lent Day 2 — Closer Than You Think

Scripture:

James 4:8
“Draw near...

 and He will draw near to you.”

 

Yesterday, you took a first step.

Today, you take another.

Lent is not a dramatic leap.
It is not a sudden transformation.

It is a slow drawing near.

Sometimes we imagine God as distant — waiting for us to prove something before He responds.

But Scripture says something different.

Draw near…
and He will draw near to you.

There is no delay in His movement toward you.
No hesitation.
No requirement for perfection first.

This season is not about striving.
It is about closeness.

Today, simply take one more small step.

Open the Word.
Whisper a prayer.
Sit in stillness for a moment longer than yesterday.

You are not chasing Him.

You are responding to a God who is already leaning toward you.

🌿 Prayer

Lord, help me take one small step closer to You today. Remind me that You are already near. 

Amen
