Lent Day 33 — The Veil
Scripture
“When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face."
— Exodus 34:33–35
Devotion
When Moses came down from the mountain, the people saw the glory on his face—and they were afraid.
So he covered it.
The glory was real.
It reflected the presence of God.
But it did not remain in the same way.
Over time, it began to fade.
This moment reveals something deeper.
The glory Moses carried was a reflection—beautiful, powerful, and true—but not yet the fullness of what God intended.
It pointed forward.
There are moments in our lives where we experience God clearly—where His presence feels close and real. But those moments are not meant to be held onto as something we control or preserve.
They are invitations.
Invitations to keep seeking…
to keep walking…
to move toward something greater that God is preparing.
The veil reminds us that the story is not finished yet.
🌿 Reflection
Have you ever tried to hold onto a moment with God instead of continuing to follow Him?
Where might God be inviting you to move forward instead of staying where you are comfortable?
🌿 Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for the moments where I have seen Your presence clearly.
Help me not to cling to what was, but to trust what You are leading me toward.
Keep my heart open and ready for all that You are still revealing.
Amen.
