Lent Day 34 — The Shift
Scripture
“I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people."
— Jeremiah 31:33
Devotion
There was a time when God’s words were written in stone—clear, unchanging, set before His people.
But even what was written in stone could be broken in human hands.
So God began to do something deeper.
Not just writing where we could see…
but writing where we could carry it.
Not on tablets…
but on hearts.
The journey was never only about knowing His words.
It was about becoming a place where His words could live.
And slowly, quietly, God began to move from stone to soul.
🌿 Reflection
Where is God writing in your life right now?
Are you only reading His Word… or allowing Him to write within you?
🌿 Prayer
Lord,
You have spoken Your truth from the mountain,
but I confess…
there are places in my heart where it has not yet taken root.
I have heard Your Word,
but I have not always carried it within me.
Write it deeper, Lord.
Not just on the surface of my thoughts,
but into the quiet places of my soul—
where my choices are formed,
where my desires begin,
where only You can see.
Take what feels distant and make it personal.
Take what feels external and make it alive within me.
Shape my heart so that I no longer strive to follow You from the outside,
but walk with You from within.
Let Your truth become part of me—
steady, unshaken, and faithful.
And where my heart has been resistant,
soften it.
Where it has been distracted,
refocus it.
Where it has been empty,
fill it with Your presence.
Write Your Word within me, Lord,
so that I may not just know it—
but live it.
Amen.

If today’s reflection met you where you are, don’t let the quiet end here.
Each morning of Lent, a new step is waiting —
a gentle place to pause, listen, and draw near to God.
Return tomorrow for Day 34. We’ll continue the journey — one faithful step at a time.
