Lent Day 7 — The Quiet Work Within
Something holy is happening beneath the surface.
Scripture
“And we all… are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:18
Devotion
Not all change is visible.
Some of God’s deepest work happens where no one else can see — in softened reactions, quieter thoughts, gentler words, and a growing peace that cannot quite be explained.
After we learn to trust…
after we open our hands…
after we learn to abide…
God begins His quiet work within us.
Lent slowly shifts here — from what we offer God to what God begins forming within us.
Lent is not meant to make us busy trying to become better people.
It is an invitation to remain close enough to Jesus that transformation happens naturally.
A branch does not strain to produce fruit.
It simply stays connected to the vine.
You may not feel different today.
Your circumstances may look exactly the same.
But if you have been drawing near to God — even imperfectly — something holy is already unfolding.
Transformation often feels ordinary while it is happening.
Only later do we realize:
- our worries no longer hold us as tightly,
- our responses carry more grace,
- our hearts rest more easily in God.
The Spirit works quietly, patiently, faithfully.
You are not standing still.
You are being changed.
Reflection
Today, notice one small way your heart feels different than it once did.
Give thanks for the quiet work God is doing within you.
🌿 Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for working within me even when I cannot see it.
Shape my heart gently and patiently.
Help me remain close to You and trust the work You are doing beneath the surface.
Make me more like You, one quiet step at a time.
Amen.

Walk This Journey Together
If today’s reflection met you where you are, you are warmly invited to continue the journey.
Each morning of Lent, a new quiet reflection is shared — a gentle place to pause, listen, and draw near to God.
